ONCOLOGY / UROLOGY
Expertise – As the oldest urology program in the U.S., we build on a legacy of discovery
and advancement for a range of urological conditions — including stone disease and testis,
bladder and prostate cancers.
Fast detection – Our work in prostate and bladder cancers includes PSMA tracers using
PET/MRI scanners for faster detection and more accurate diagnosis of recurrence in
patients.
Innovation – We have pioneered advancements in the treatment of genitourinary cancers,
including:
nerve-sparing surgical techniques for testicular cancer
bladder reconstruction procedures
treatment improvements for urologic stone disease
BPH and partial gland ablations for prostate cancer

Largest program in the U.S. – We completed 265 bone marrow transplants in 2019 and
are an NCI-designated cancer center.

Dedicated to assisting patients and their families, our experienced and compassionate clinical
coordinators take an individualized approach to meeting the unique needs of each destination
patient and their family throughout their entire visit to IU Health.
SCHEDULING AND NAVIGATION
Our clinical coordinators will:
Identify the best physician to meet the specic clinical needs of the patient.
Schedule all necessary medical appointments to accommodate the individual patient time
frame.
Provide escort services to appointments and assist with the registration process.
COMMUNICATIONS
Our clinical coordinators will:
Support patients and their families at every stage of their visit with IU Health.
Assist in any specialized travel arrangements.
Facilitate communication between home physicians and IU Health physicians through
virtual consultations.
Serve as the primary point of contact for any future correspondence.
VIRTUAL CONSULTATION
With virtual consultation, the home country physician can:
Meet in real time with our multidisciplinary specialists using a camera-enabled tablet or
computer.
Collaborate with your care team through our secure, encrypted app-based platform.
Determine the right treatment plan or do a follow-up visit virtually without requiring your
patient to travel.
TRANSPORTATION AND ACCOMMODATION
Our clinical coordinators will:
Arrange hotel or extended stay accommodations in Indianapolis with discounted rates via
the ProCare Network.
Coordinate general transportation.
Secure ambulance ground transport, if necessary.
CONCIERGE SERVICES
In addition to providing world-class care, we offer the following services to ensure your
experience at IU Health is an exceptional one.
Beginning-to-end case management – Before, during and after your visit, a clinical
coordinator will personally handle every detail, including securing bank accounts and phone
services and making arrangements for car rentals or other needs.
Interpretation services – If needed, your clinical coordinator will arrange to have an
interpreter present at all of your appointments.
Cultural resources – Your clinical coordinator will be able to recommend cultural resources,
places of worship and restaurants/grocery stores to meet your needs. They will also help
you navigate any cultural dynamics with providers and clinicians, so you can be completely
comfortable throughout your entire stay.
