DEVILLE, Sylvain Joseph – aged 94, of Pt. Marion, died in his home Wednesday August 16, 1950 at 12:30 pm, following a

lingering illness. He was born October 8, 1855 at Jumet, Belgium. He was predeceased by his wife, Josephine DEVILLE. Surviving

are two sons, Frank S DEVILLE, of Morgantown, WVa.; Jules C DEVILLE, of Pt. Marion; three grandchildren; six great-

grandchildren. Friends are being received in the CONN Funeral Home, Pt. Marion, where services will be conducted Friday, August

18, at 2 o’clock with Rev Joseph FLESHMAN officiating. Burial will be in East Oak Grove cemetery, Morganstown.

WAZELLE, Gerrard – aged 69, died Sunday morning, October 22, 1950 at 7:10 O’clock in his home, 12 Jane St., Point Marion,

following a lengthy illness. Mr. WAZELLE, a glass cutter was born in Jumet, Belgium, February 26, 1851. Surviving are his widow,

Adeline; two brothers, John B WAZELLE of Point Marion; Louie LAMBIOTTE in Belgium, one sister, Norma WAZELLE, one

granddaughter Rose WAZELLE, both of Point Marion. A daughter preceded him in death. Friends are being received in the late home

where funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon, October 24, at 2 o’clock with Rev Fred B GRIMM officiating. Interment

will be in Evergreen Memorial cemetery under the direction of the CONN Funeral Home, Point Marion.

Ishmael PENSIS, in his 76

year, a resident of Washington County for more than 60 years, died at his home 317 North street,

McDonald, Tuesday, April 3, 1(9)51, at 1am. He had been in failing health for the past few months. Mr. Pensis was born in

Charleroi, Belgium Feb 7, 1878(?). He came to the United States at the age of 12 years and located in McDonald where he had

resided since. He was a retired coal miner and for 50 of his active years he was employed by the Pittsburgh Coal Company. He was a

member of the First United Presbyterian Church, McDonald. His wife, the former Bertha Behling, survives with two daughters: Miss

Pauline Pensis, at home and Mrs. Roy H Oats, McDonald; a brother, John Pensis, Charleroi; three grandchildren and one great-

Joseph CHIFF died at 9:30 a.m. June 23, 1951, in his home, R.D. 4, McDonald, following an illness of a month. A son of the late

Henry and Octavia DEBLANDER CHIFF, he was born July 8, 1892, in Primrose, where he spent his entire life. He was a miner until

about four years ago when he went to work on the roads. He was a member of the La Solidarite club, Primrose. Surviving are a

brother, August CHIFF, and a sister, Mrs. Charles LIEBERT, both of R. D. 4, McDonald, and several nieces and a nephew. Funeral

services were held Tuesday afternoon in the Wilson funeral home, Midway, in charge of the Rev. Joseph H. RODGERS, pastor of the

Alex POSKIN, 70, died at 6:45 p.m., Sunday, July 8, 1951, at his home, Valley street, following a lingering illness. A son of the late

Mr. and Mrs. Emil POSKIN, he was born November 17, 1880 in Charleroi, Belgium. He came to this country as a youth and resided

in Sturgeon. He and Rose FOUNTAIN were married August 13, 1901, and resided in McDonald since. He was a member of UMW

local 8062 and of the La Solidarite, McDonald. Surviving besides his wife are one son, William POSKIN, Bridgeville; three

daughters, Mrs. Oliver OPENBRIER, Sr. and Mrs. Camille BARONIO, both of McDonald, and Eleanor, at home; one brother, Daniel

POSKIN, Griffith, Ind. and two Sisters, Mrs. Lawrence KESSLER, Steubenville, Ohio, and Mrs. Ray ROBERTS, Warren, Ohio. A

sister, Alice WEBB, preceded him in death in April, 1950. There are seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral

services were held Wednesday afternoon in charge of the Rev. A. H. SARRIO, pastor of the First Methodist church. Burial was in

Arthur LORANT, 45, of Cherry Valley, died at 10:00 a.m. January, 30, 1952, in the Mt. Alto sanitarium. He had been in failing

health and a patient at the sanitarium for the past three years. Mr. LORANT was born September, 27, 1905, at Bulger, and had spent

his entire life in that district. He was engaged in farming in the Cherry Valley district for a number of years. He leaves one brother,

Archille LORANT, of Cherry Valley. Funeral services were held Saturday in a Burgettstown funeral home. Burial was in Mt.

Mrs. Celina PLETINCKS, 81, died at 3:30 a.m. February 22, 1952, in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Victor BAILY, Liberty Street,

McDonald, following an illness of four weeks. She is the widow of Adolph PLETINCKS, Sr. Mrs. PLETINCKS was born

September 28, 1870, in Belgium and had been a resident of the McDonald district for 65 years. She was a member of the Irons

Memorial United Presbyterian church and the King's Daughters class of the church. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Victor

BAILY of McDonald, Mrs. S. A. ROMAIN of Mt. Lebanon, Mrs. Leon FRANKLIN, Sr., of Sturgeon, and Mrs. A. S. DeVOS of

Baltimore, Md.; two sons, Adolph PLETINCKS, JR., of Wallingford, Conn., and John R. PLETINCKS of McDonald; two brothers,

Arthur SCHAYES of the Woodville State Hospital, and Eli SCHAYES of Steubenville, Ohio, and two sisters, Mrs. Adeline HALEY

of Heidelberg and Mrs. Mary LAURENT of New Kensington; there are 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral

services were held Monday afternoon in the Pettit funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Ralph Y. SCOTT. Burial was in Robinson's

Xavier CASTIAUX, 80, of 213 Luella Avenue, Charleroi, died Saturday, March 22, 1952, at 9:30pm. He was born in Belgium, May

5, 1871 and was in the plumbing business in Charleroi for a number of years. He is survived by one son, Robert of Charleroi, two

daughters, Mrs. John Dowler, Charleroi and Mrs. Lorraine Wells, North Charleroi, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Archille P. LORANT, 56, a resident of Cherry Valley, died Monday, Jun 23, 1952, at the Veterans' Administration hospital at

Aspinwall. Mr. LORANT was born in Belgium on January 31, 1896, a son of Desire and Josephine BARR LORANT. He had

resided for the past 40 years at Cherry Valley. His wife, Felecie PAULIAN LORANT, survives with four daughters; Mrs. Mary

STANISH, Simone and Josephine, R. D. 3, Burgettstown, and Sgt. Ermeline LORANT, of Dayton, Ohio. Funeral services will be

Victor L. CENIS, 80, husband of Mary PLETINCKS CENIS, died Thursday, July 3, 1952, at his home in Liberty street McDonald,

after a long illness. Mr. CENIS was born July 13, 1871, in Belgium and had been a resident of McDonald for the past 60 years. He

operated a hardware store in Burgettstown and McDonald, since 1926 and until his retirement in 1947. Mr. CENIS and his wife

celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 20, 1952. Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Erma CENIS WORK of

Conway, and Miss Thelma CENIS at home, and a stepson, John VANDECASTY of Pittsburgh. There are eight grandchildren and

seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the Pettit funeral home. Burial was in Robinson's Run

cemetery.

FRERE, Alida A – aged 84 of Point Marion, died Wednesday morning Januray 14, 1953 at 11:45 at the home of her son Raoul

FRERE, following a lengthy illness. She was born September 5, 1853 at Jumet, Belgium. Surviving are two sons, Raoul FRERE and

Rene FRERE both of Point Marion; 4 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her husband Joseph FRERE preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Altar Society of St. Hubert R C church. Friends will be received in the CONN Funeral Home after 2 o’clock

his afternoon. Rosary Service will be held Friday evening at 8:15 o’clock. Brief services will be held Saturday at 8:30am followed by

Mrs. Prudente Adele QUINET DEPREZ, a former resident of Charleroi, died suddenly at her home in the Hamilton Apartment, 118

East Walnut street, Lancaster,PA., December 25, 1953 at 3;30pm. She was born in Charleroi, Belgium, 18 November 1874. Mrs.

Deprez, who was 79 years of age, lived in Charleroi for 29 years before moving to Lancaster thirty-three years ago. Just recently she

and her husband, Peter J DEPREZ, celebrated their sixty-second wedding anniversary. She was a member of the First Presbyterian

church of Lancaster. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Casimir F of Lorain, Ohio, a daughter, Dr. Marcella E.

wife of Alexander A CZAPF of Lancaster, one sister, Mary F., wife of John B LEQUE of Lancaster, four grandchildren, four great-

Augustin SOUFFRANT, 80, husband of Damasine CARLY SOUFFRANT, died Thursday, April 15, 1954, at his home in Sturgeon.

He was born July 11, 1873, in Belgium, a son of Alexander and Mary WAUTHIER SOUFFRANT. He came to the United States at

the age of 16 years and settled with his family in McDonald. He had been a resident of Sturgeon for 60 years. He was a 50-year

employee of the Pittsburgh Coal Co. and retired in 1937. He was a member of the Franco-Belgian club of Sturgeon. Surviving are his

wife and the following children: Alexander of Indianola, Henry of Carnegie, William of Noblestown, and Mrs. Joseph DU FOUR and

Augustin, Jr., both of Sturgeon. There are 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A blessing service was held Monday

afternoon in the Rogers funeral home, McDonald, in charge of the Rev. Fr. Michael CONROY, pastor of the St. Alphonsus church,

Mrs. Marie HENNAUT REGINIER, 79, died at 2:00 a.m. Monday, April 18, 1954, in her home in Cecil following a brief illness.

A daughter of Jule and Frances PREAUX, she was born, in Belgium. Mrs. REGINIER has been a resident of Cecil for the past 53

years. She is survived by her husband Firmin REGINIER; three daughters and a son, Mrs. Julia NUGENT, Detroit, Mich.; Mrs.

Emilia BEHLING and Emanuel HENNAUT, both of Cecil, and Mrs. Catherine ROUSSEL, of Ruthfred Acres; and a sister Mrs. Ora

HENRY. Three children, Mrs. Frances CHANTRENNE, Mrs. Ora VANDEGATE and Emil HENNAUT, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 o'clock this Thursday afternoon in the Coleman funeral home, Cecil in charge of the Rev. W. N.

THORNBURG, pastor of the Venice U. P. church. Burial was in the Venice cemetery.

to Amile J. Gainvors, sr. Surviving are her husband, the following children: Mrs. Harvey W. Samuels of Bristol, Paul P. and Amile J.,

was born in McDonald, PA, January 27, 1900, the son of Leon and Adelaide Francois Balza. He was a member of St. Mary’s

Episcopal church, the Italia Unita Club, the Lithuanian Library Association, and the Eighth Street Belgium Club. He was a life-long

resident of Charleroi and for the past twenty-five years, operated a barber shop on Crest Avenue. He is survived by his wife, Tresa

Grilli Balza, one daughter, Mrs. Michael J Torban of Charleroi, one brother, Arnold Balza of Charleroi, one sister, Mrs. Joseph

Schroeder of Rochester and one grandchild. A son, Raymond Balza was killed while in service in the South Pacific

of John B and Louise HANCHARD FAUVIE, he was born September 11, 1870 at Chatelineau, Belgium. Mr. Fauvie, a retired

miner, lived in the California area since 1911. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Esther Dinche, Mrs. Bertha Bosley, Mrs Blanche

Clausen and Mrs. Martha Rogers, all of Detroit, Mich; four sons, Adrian, Alfred and Emile all of Warren, O and Albert Fauvie, Coal

was born March 8, 1882 in Belgium and had been a resident of this vicinity for a number of years. He was a retired employee of the

was born in Belgium and came to this country as a small girl. She was married to Sylvan F BEAUMARIAGE, who died in 1953 and

lived in Cecil all her married life. She was a member of the Venice United Presbyterian church. Surviving are three sons, Sylvan Jr,

Cecil; Alexander, Washington Rd and Jules, hickory; one daughter, Sylvia HESS, Bridgeville, one sister Sylvia BEAUMARIAGE,

wife, Josephine STOREZ, at home; a son, Raymond STOREZ of Cecil; two daughters, Virginia ZAMATLIO of Canonsburg and

Marie PIRILLO of Hickory; a brother George, and a sister, Augusta DENYS, both of Charleroi. There are ten grandchildren.

Jules HAINAUT, 83, formerly of McDonald, died suddenly of a heart attack Friday, July 31, 1959, in the home of his daughter, Mrs.

Mrs. Bertha CHARLIER, 74, of Wellsburg, WV, died at 12:20 a.m. Monday, August 17, 1959 in the North Wheeling hospital

McDonald as a child, and had resided in the Weirton-Wellsburg area the past 40 years. Her husband, Emile CHARLIER died in 1921.

Belgium, and came to the United States as a child. While in McDonald, he was in the tea business with his brothers the late Peter E.

DESCUTNER and John Z. DESCUTNER. He moved to Akron I 1925. He formerly owned a cement block manufacturing plant in

Akron and for 20 years was a general contractor. He worked for the Vaughn Machinery Co., as a plant guard for seven years. He was

a member of the North Hills U. P. church, Akron, and Garfield Lodge No. 604, F. & A. M., McDonald. He is survived by his wife,

Valerie P. DESCUTNER; four daughters, Mrs. Adena C. QUERRY, Mrs. Elva P. PEARCE, Mrs. Norma A. HAYNES, and Mrs.

Alfred J. HAINAUT, 79, a former resident of McDonald, died Monday, January 7, 1963, in his home in Youngstown, Ohio. A son

of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis HAINAUT, he was born in Belgium and came to the United States at the age of three. He left

McDonald about 45 years ago and went to Youngstown, where he was employed by the U. S. Steel co. He retired about 14 years ago.

Mr. HAINAUT was twice married. His first wife, Irma BRICELAND HAINAUT died about 1911 and his second wife died in 1937.

He leaves a son, Dr. Charles A. HAINAUT of Houston; and a daughter, Evelyn, the wife of Charles HERRE of Youngstown, Ohio.

There are five grandchildren. Funeral services were held January 10 in Youngstown. Burial was in Belmont Park cemetery,

veteran of World War I, Mr. Delestienne was a retired employee of the Charleroi plant of Corning Glass Works. He had lived in

Norman G. TOURNAY, 80, of Gladden Heights, McDonald, died Tuesday, December 13, 1983, in the Canonsburg hospital. A son

of Gustave and Mamie CHARLIER TOURNAY, he was born December 31, 1902, in McDonald. Mr. TOURNAY was a retired

engineer for the Pennsylvania Railroad. He was a member of the Independent Bible Presbyterian Church, McDonald, and of the

Komoko Club, McDonald. Surviving are five sons, Donald TOURNAY of Midway, Norman TOURNAY of Canonsburg, Howard J.

TOURNAY of Weirton, W. Va., Edward S. TOURNAY of ROCHESTER, and Robert C. TOURNAY of Hagerstown, Md.; six

daughters, Jeanne MAINWARING of Washington, D. C., Norma BUCK of Sturgeon, Joyce FAY of Denville, N. J., Helen WEAVER

of McDonald, Bonnie CORRICK of Claysville, and Denise PFEIFFER of Harbey, La.; a sister, Naomi LONGSTRETH of McDonald;

a brother, George of Hawthorne, Nev.; two half-brothers, Wayne of McDonald and Daniel of Weirton, W. Va., a step-sister, Wilma

CARNAHAN of Weirton, W. Va.; 25 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. His wife, Louise HARTZELL TOURNAY, died

in 1982. A brother, Charles, and two half-brothers, Howard and Gustava, (sic) are deceased. Funeral services were held last Friday

morning in the Independent Bible Presbyterian church, McDonald, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Robert MCGILL. Burial was in

Robinson's Run cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of the Frank J. NATION Funeral Home, Inc., McDonald.

Miss Victorine BRUTOUT, 77, of Charleroi, a native of Cecil, died Monday, February 27, 1984, in Haven Crest Convalescent

Home, Charleroi. A daughter of the late August and Julie PIREAUX BRUTOUT, she was born June 2, 1906, in Cecil. A retired

employee of Corning Glass Works, Charleroi plant, she was a member of the Corning Glass Retirees, the First Christian Church, and

the Good Neighbors Club, all of Charleroi. Surviving are two brothers, Victor BRUTOUT of Fallowfield Township and Raymond

BRUTOUT of Charleroi; a sister, Mrs. Michael (Mary) VOLOSIN of Spring Hills, Fla., and several nieces and nephews. A brother,

Joseph BRUTOUT, is deceased. Friends are being received at the Schrock-Hogan funeral home, Charleroi, where services will be held

of the Roser Memorial Community Church, Anna Marie, Fla. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Pauline M. SMITH of Coraopolis; two

sisters, Marie LACY and Audrey MCLELLAND of Bradenton, Fla.; and one grandchild. Her husband, Leon PLUMERET

Mrs. Rachel M. CATRAIN, 84, of McDonald, died Wednesday, March 14, 1984, in the Allegheny General hospital. A daughter of

the late Peter and Charlotte MORTELETTE, she was born April 20, 1899, in McDonald. Surviving are a son, Frank CATRAIN of

McDonald; a daughter, Marie C. MAY of McDonald; two brothers, George MORTELETTE of McDonald and Rene MORTELETTE

of Newport Beach, Calif.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Four brothers, Sam, Jules, Peter, and Eli, are deceased.

Mrs. Olga E. ADAM, 87, of 845 Mulberry Alley, Meadville, died unexpectedly Sunday, June 3, 1984, in the St. Vincent Health Care

Center, Erie. She was born November 28, 1896, in Waghen, Belgium, a daughter of Nabor and Mary C. (DULVES) BOUCKARET.

A former resident of Bulger, she married Julius ADAM in 1920. He died in 1952. She was a member of St. Agatha R. C. Church,

Meadville. Surviving are a son, Jules, of Saegertown; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Also preceeding her in death

were four grandchildren and one great-grandson. Friends were received in the Roofner and Collins Funeral Home, Meadville. A

mass of Christian Burial was held in St. Agatha Church, and burial was in the church cemetery.

Fayette Township. Born April 2, 1901, in McDonald, she was a daughter of Nicholas and Elmira MOTTE LIENARD. Miss

LIENARD was employed as a product demonstrator for Donahue's of Pittsburgh, retiring in 1964. She was a member of the Senior

Citizens of Hazelwood. Surviving are one brother, Louis LINEARD (sic) of McDonald, and three sisters, Virginia LYONS of Mt.

Lebanon, Adele BROWN of Sturgeon and Madeline DELANEY of McDonald. Deceased are three brothers, Charles LIENARD,

Nicholas Leinard and Alphonse LIENARD, and two sisters, Marie SILHOL and Josephine MASQUELIER. Friends were received in

Sonia Wylock Pines, 60, a licensed pharmacist and John Wanamaker retiree, died Tuesday in Claymont, Del. A former Wilmington

resident, she lived in Claymont. A native of Charleroi, Belgium, she came to the United States after World War II. Although she was

trained in pharmacy, she worked in sales, most recently in the Tribout and coat departments of Wanamakers. Illness forced her

retirement three years ago. Survivors: her husband, Zygmont L.; her son, Zygmont A.; her daughters, Deana Binder and Simone

Haverford. She was the widow of Wood D. Gerstell (5 Jun 1906 – May 1983). She was educated at the West Chester Friends

Community School and the Agnes Irwin School. She was active in the Episcopal Church and served on the Altar Guild of the Church

of the Redeemer in Bryn Mawr. She was an avid bridge and tennis player and a member of the Merion Cricket Club. Survivors: a

foreman for the Republic Steel Corporation. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith MC GINNIS SOUFFRANT, in 1981.

CHRISTIANE PRYOR, 63, a longtime resident of Aldan, died July 25 at her home. Born in Chimay, Belgium, Mrs. Pryor moved to

the United States in 1949. She had lived in Aldan since 1953. She was a homemaker and a member of the Clifton United Methodist

Church in Clifton Heights. She enjoyed gardening and knitting afghans for area nursing homes and hospitals. She is survived by her

husband, Joseph E. Pryor; two sons, John and Joseph Jr.; two daughters, JoAnne Pryor and Suzanne Phillips; two grandchildren; and a

brother, Pierre Brison. The funeral service was Thursday at the Marvil Funeral Home in Darby. Interment was in Philadelphia

ALBERT GUERISSE, 78, a hero of the Belgian underground who helped Allied airmen escape from occupied Europe during World

War II, has died, his family said yesterday. Mr. Guerisse died Sunday. His family did not give the cause of death. Mr. Guerisse was

an army doctor when Nazi Germany invaded Belgium in 1940, and he fled to Gibraltar after the Belgian army's surrender. He joined a

British Royal Navy special operations unit and, using the name Patrick O'Leary, participated in secret missions in the Mediterranean.

Captured by the Germans, he escaped and returned to Belgium, where he headed an underground network through which hundreds of

Allied airmen, shot down over the continent, returned to England. In 1943, he was arrested for a second time by the Gestapo and held

in several concentration camps, including Dachau, where he was tortured and sentenced to death. The end of the war prevented his

execution. After the war, Mr. Guerisse joined the Belgian army's medical corps. He volunteered for service as a major in a Belgian

battalion during the Korean War. Later, he was appointed to head the Belgian army's medical corps with the rank of major general.

PHILIPPE PIERRE DELORI, 55, former international sales manager for Sutton Engineering and later commercial officer for SMS

Engineering, died Friday of cancer in Shadyside Hospital. He was a native of Ghent, Belgium, and resided in Shadyside. Mr. Delori

was metallurgical engineering graduate of the University of Ghent, and earned a master's degree in business administration degree

from the University of Pittsburgh and a master's in science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Surviving are his wife,

Claire; two daughters, Hatsy of Brussels, Belgium, and Caroline of Washington, D.C.; and his parents, George and Suzanne Delori, of

Ghent. Friends are being received one hour before memorial services at 4 p.m. tomorrow in Heinz Memorial Chapel, Oakland. The

Irma Marie Froumy deNapoli of West Chester, who as a young woman in Belgium during World War I helped American and

British soldiers escape German forces, died Monday at Brandywine Hospital. She had celebrated her 100th birthday on Jan. 5. Mrs.

deNapoli was a student at Ursuline Academy, a private boarding school near Louvain, Belgium, when Germany occupied her country.

She joined the Belgium resistance and helped dozens of American and British soldiers escape the clutches of German soldiers, said

her daughter, Mafalda Smith. Mrs. De Napoli and other girls at the academy would hide Allied soldiers until arrangements could be

made for their safe transport to Holland, which was neutral at the time, Smith said. Sometimes the girls would hide Allied soldiers in

large milk containers and smuggle them out of the country by horse and wagon. At one point, Smith said, her mother's activities were

discovered by German soldiers and she was held prisoner for nearly a year before escaping to England. Once in England, Mrs.

deNapoli resumed her studies, at Ursuline Academy in London, and did not return to Belgium until after the war. In 1923, Mrs.

deNapoli married a French businessman, Melchiore deNapoli, and traveled extensively with him to the United States and Canada until

his death four years later of pneumonia. In 1938, she emigrated to the United States and became an American citizen. She lived in

Westchester County, N.Y., before moving to West Goshen in 1978. During World War II, Mrs. deNapoli worked for the U.S.

government, reporting the activities of Germans living in this country, Smith said. Mrs. deNapoli was a member of the Alliance

Francais and the Belgium American Society, both in New York, and was a volunteer with the American Heart Association of Chester

County. In addition to her daughter, she is survived by a sister, three grandchildren and a great-grandson. A Mass of Christian Burial

is to be offered at 10 a.m. today at St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay St., West Chester. Interment is to follow in St. Agnes Cemetery,

1050 Pottstown Pike. Funeral arrangements were made by the Smith Funeral Home in West Chester.

Varenberg was born 13 Oct 1906 in Charleroi, a son of the late Joseph and Kathleen Gillen Van Varenberg. He retired from the

Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburg Steel Corporation after 49 years of service. Mr. Van Varenberg was a member of the Mary

Mother of the Church Parish in Charleroi. His wife Helen E Van Varenberg died 30 Aug 1993. Two brothers and three sisters are

also deceased. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Leon and Amber Van Varenberg of Casselberry, FL and Roland and

Jean H. SCHMIDT POOLE, 61, (1 Feb 1934 - 9 Aug 1995) of Gulph Mills, a customer-service representative, died of cardiac arrest

yesterday at Montgomery Hospital in Norristown. Mrs. Poole was born in Philadelphia and graduated from Frankford High School

there in 1952. She was a customer service representative at the Gunton Corp., a distributor for Pella Window & Door Co. in

Norristown, where she had worked for 19 years. While living in Texas for several years in the 1980s, she was a volunteer at the

Victoria Regional Medical Center. She is survived by her husband, J. Michael Poole; her father, John Schmidt; children Charles

Schalch, Carol Matznick, Barbara Schalch, Sally Ann Poole and Michael K. Poole; a sister; and four grandchildren. A memorial

service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wayne Presbyterian Church on Lancaster Avenue. Burial will be private. Donations may

OSCAR MOUTSCHEN, 93, a retired master mechanic, died Tuesday at his home in Lansdowne. A native of Belgium, Mr.

Moutschen came to the United States in 1958 and lived briefly in Yeadon before moving to Lansdowne. He worked for the Penn

Tube Co. in Lansdowne, where he designed machinery used to cut tubing manufactured at the plant. He retired in 1972. In Belgium,

he had been a plumbing and heating contractor for many years. Mr. Moutschen enjoyed working on projects at home and gardening.

He was a fan of professional boxing. He was preceded in death by a son, Pierre Moutschen. He is survived by his wife of 71 years,

Fina Dester Moutschen; a daughter, Nicole Klein; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great- great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Upper Allen Twp. He was the widower of Maria C. Blanquart Verstraten. Surviving are a

Born Jan. 9. 1922, in Gingelom, Belgium, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Marie Lindekens. She served in the Belgian Army

Nurse Corps during World War II. She came to the United States in 1946 and for 12 years operated the Newportville Inn and Beauty

Salon. She retired in 1981. She lived in this area the past 12 years. She was a founding member of the Levittown - Fairless Hills

Rescue Squad; and St. Mary's Church, Mocanaqua. Surviving are her husband, Joseph C., whom she married Jan. 13, 1973; sons,

David Leonard, Charlotte, N.C.; and Donald, Langhorne; and four grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at

12:30 p.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Church, Mocanaqua. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. There will be no calling hours.

Reisterstown Senior Center at Hanna Moore. She taught piano at Reisterstown for 15 years and had played the violin since she was 5

years old. She was an elementary school teacher and taught French. She played the piano for the Reisterstown Senior Center, when

the members sang for nursing homes. She was president of the Music Club of America, was a founding member of the Sacred Heart

Sodality, Glyndon Women’s Club and Glyndon Homemakers Club. She was an avid bridge player and belonged to many bridge

clubs. She also enjoyed oil painting. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, William J Sullivan and two brothers, Eudore A

He had been employed at Cardone for over 25 years. Nicola had been a coal miner in Belgium. He was a member of the Calvary

Chapel of Philadelphia. Nicola was an avid Flyers fan and enjoyed hunting, fishing and travel. Nicola was the beloved husband of

Angela Ditore Marino. He was the devoted father of Donato Marino of Jamison and Maria Jefferys of Croydon. He was the loving

grandfather of Daniel and David Marino and James Jefferys. He is also survived by his sister, Angela Lepore of Gulf Port, Fla.

Raymond Michael PICHARD, 90, of Washington, formerly of Roscoe, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, May 11, 2004. He was

born Dec. 24, 1913, in Granville, a son of the late Desire and Josephine Van Varenberg Pichard. He was a member of Roscoe

Presbyterian Church and was the last living charter member of the Roscoe Volunteer Fire Department, having served 64 years, many

of them as chaplain. Mr. Pichard retired with 371/2 years of service with Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport Plant, most of which

was as a furnace helper. He was associated with the former Downs News Stand for over 40 years. Mr. Pichard served on the California

School Board, the California Historical Society and the Long Branch Grange, and he was an active member of the Howe Cemetery

Board. In 1985, he was chosen as the Long Branch Grange Man of the Year. He was commissioned Nov. 27, 1988, and retired Dec.

31, 2000, as a full-time lay pastor with the Washington Presbytery, after having served as interim minister and supply pastor and

spending the last 12 years ministering at Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church in Washington. While serving the Lord, Mr. Pichard served

his fellow men by working with the Allen port Food Bank, the 5-Town Area Meals on Wheels, taught Bible study for five years and,

after moving to Washington in 2001, participated in the Washington County Health Centers Adult Daycare Program and the Chartiers

Crossroads Presbyterian Church's "Young at Heart" program. On July 16, 1936, he married Mary Elizabeth Garrison, who shared his

life as God's servant for more than 68 years until April 23, 2003. Mr. Pichard is survived by his loving family, daughter Patricia Rae

Mancuso and granddaughter Krisanne Millan Burgess and husband Christopher of Washington, with whom he made his home;

granddaughter Marci Jeanne McAdoo and husband William F. Jr. of West Alexander, and grandson Dale William Mancuso and wife

Susan of Macedonia, Ohio; many nieces, nephew, grand-nieces and nephews; nine great-grandchildren, LCP Patrick Christopher with

Father Philip Gustave Clement GHYS, O.S.B., a son of the late Edouard Ghys and Maria (Moorkens) Ghys, a monk of St.

Vincent Archabbey, Latrobe, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004. He was 80. Father Philip was born June 7, 1924, in Assebroek, Belgium.

He was the brother of the Rev. Edmond Ghys, of Brugge, Belgium, Marie Therese Ghys, of Brussels, Belgium, and the late Philippe

Ghys. He attended Dames de Andre and Institute of St. Francis Xaverius grade schools and graduated from Koninklyk Atheneum

Brugge High School in 1941. He graduated from Catholic University, Louvain, in 1946, where he studied to be a chemical agricultural

engineer and engineer of the agricultural industries. He studied philosophy at St. Andrew Abbey, Bruges, until 1949, and theology at

the same abbey until 1953. Father Philip made his simple profession of monastic vows Jan. 6, 1948, at St. Andrew Abbey, Bruges. His

solemn profession of monastic vows was made Jan. 15, 1951, at St. Andrew Abbey. Ordained July 25, 1953, at St. Andrew, he served

as a teacher and prefect and as a reserve chaplain in the Belgian Army (1955-1978). In 1961, he was assigned to Shaba Province in

Congo, Africa, where he advanced to administrative director. He entered St. Vincent Archabbey in 1970 and was assigned to teach in

Savannah, Ga., in 1971. At Benedictine Military School, Savannah, Father Philip taught earth science, Bible study, biology, algebra,

geometry, religion and physical education and served as assistant headmaster (1975-76, 1976-77). From 1981 until 1995, he served in

the administration there, overseeing the bookstore and cafeteria. He returned to St. Vincent Archabbey in March of this year.

Distinctions Father Philip earned include being named Ridder (knight) in de Kroonorde, April 7, 1967; Ridder in de Leopoldsorde

April 7, 1972; and Officer in de Kroonorde, July 20, 1977. Father Philip became an American citizen on April 28, 1978. Father

Philip's body will be received at the Elizabeth Roderick Center, St. Vincent Archabbey, Wednesday at 3 p.m. Viewing will be held in

the parlor of the Elizabeth Roderick Center from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday. A vigil service will be

held in St. Vincent Archabbey Basilica at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, after which Father Philip's body will lie in state in the Basilica until 9

Mr. Gosseaux was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Navy. He retired Oct. 2, 1982, from Bell Telephone with 38

years of service before retiring to Sebring/Avon Park, Fla., in 1990. He was a member of the Bell of PA Telephone Pioneers and a

member and past commander of Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Pierre and

Carol Gosseaux of Bedford County; a daughter and son-in-law, Celine and David Minor of Washington; a brother, Joseph Gosseaux

of Warren, Mich.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and his companion of the past several years, Virginia Hill of

Sebring, Fla. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Genevieve Yanek Gosseaux, on April 25, 1998; and two brothers,

Emile and Frank Gosseaux. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI

FUNERAL HOME, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon (724-929-6183). A prayer service will be held Friday,

Dec. 31, at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian R.C. Church. Interment will take

Alice Louise GURLAND, nee GRUNBERG - A dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, was born in Brussels,

Belgium in 1912. She was married in 1939, shortly before WWII began, to Benjamin Bernard Gurland. Alice, her parents, brother,

husband and daughter hid in South of France during WWII. It was during this period that Alice lost her brother, Isaac. Alice came

with her family to the United States in July of 1948, and settled in Brooklyn, NY. She resided in Brooklyn Heights until 1992, when

she and her husband moved to Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Alice Gurland was a cosmopolitan woman and a wonderful homemaker. She

was a voracious reader, who also enjoyed going to the theater as well as museums. Her hobbies included knitting and embroidery and

she also enjoyed dancing and walking. Alice Louise Gurland is survived by her daughter, Elisabeth Smoot and son in law Steven,

Rev. Willy J. DeCRAEMER, 79, of Merion, a retired University of Pennsylvania associate professor who studied social change in

the former Belgian Congo, died of complications of Parkinson's disease Thursday at Manressa Hall, a Jesuit nursing facility in

Merion. Father DeCraemer joined the Penn faculty in 1974. After retiring in 1991, he traveled to Japan and studied Japanese society

and the language. Renee Fox, former head of the sociology department at Penn, said Father DeCraemer enjoyed traveling to learn

about other cultures and had friends all over the world and from every walk of life. A native of Kortijk, Belgium, Father DeCraemer

joined the Jesuit order in Belgium in 1944 and was ordained a priest in 1957. In the 1950s, he earned a bachelor's degree from

Berchmans College in Belgium and taught children of civil servants in the Belgian Congo, now Zaire. Father DeCraemer earned a

master's degree in sociology from Fordham University in 1962. In the early 1970s, he taught at York University in Toronto and

earned a doctorate in sociology from Harvard. Father DeCraemer is survived by sisters Maria DePaepe and Godelieve Vantamme;

and brothers Anton and Daniel DeCraemer. A Funeral Mass will be said at 7:30 p.m. today at Old St. Joseph's Church, 321 Willings

Arthur A. VINCK was born June 5, 1924 at Jeannette, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Arnold E. VINCK and Helen M. CRAFT

VINCK. Arthur passed away Sunday, July 24, 2005, at South Crest Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, following an extended battle with

heart disease. He was 81 years of age. Arthur moved to Bixby in 2003 to be near family, after residing in Okmulgee for 49 years.

He, his wife and oldest daughter moved to Okmulgee, Oklahoma in 1954, where he worked as a glasscutter for over 20 years. Arthur

retired from Braden Carco Gearmatic in January 1900. Arthur was in the Navy from 1941-1945. His last service was as

Quartermaster Second Class aboard the U. S. S. Serene. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Raymond and

Fred BERNOSKI of Middleburg, Belgium, entered into eternal life June 10, 2005, in Oostende, Belgium. Born in Hazleton, he was

the son of the late Alexander and Anna (Resuta) Bernoski. He was a graduate of Hazleton High School Class of 1953.He also

attended Penn State University, graduating as an electrical engineer. A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he served in Korea during

the Korean conflict. Prior to retiring, he was a pilot for both commercial and cargo airlines in the United States and Europe.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were a brother, Robert, and his twin brother, Frank. He is survived by sisters, Alice

Juliette M YODER, 89, of Pine Grove, died Thursday, Feb. 24, in Schoolyard Square, Pine Grove, where she had been a resident for

the past two years. Born in Belgium, Dec. 18, 1916, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Ernestinne Henrotin Pirlot. She was a

long-time member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove, and had been a homemaker. Preceding her in death were her husband,

Clovis F. OBERMESSER, a Belgium native who was recruited by Westinghouse Electric Corp. after World War II and eventually

rose to become president of the company's Asia Pacific division, died of lung cancer Monday at his home in Elizabethtown, Lancaster

County. Mr. Obermesser, 81, spent more than 30 years with Westinghouse before retiring in 1987. His tenure included stints in

Europe, New Jersey and Pittsburgh covering a range of positions from working on control systems in nuclear power plants to

managing the company's elevator division and serving as vice president of the Middle East and Africa regions. His career was

preceded by a tumultuous childhood. Mr. Obermesser lived in China for several years because of his father's work in the coal mining

industry. After his father died there, the boy returned to Belgium. He was living with his grandparents when World War II started. At

17, he was sent with other youth from occupied territories to Nazi-controlled Germany where he spent more than two years doing

forced labor, according to his wife, Madeleine Obermesser. After the war, he returned to Belgium, married and plunged into a pattern

of work and study. He earned his bachelor of science in electrical engineering from the University Paul Pasteur in Charleroi, Belgium,

mainly by working during the days and taking classes at night. He juggled school and work again when he came to the United States

and earned a master of science in electrical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 1955 while also working at

Westinghouse, said Mrs. Obermesser. The Pitt school of engineering gave him a distinguished alumnus award in 1987. After his

retirement, the couple split their time between Pennsylvania and a home in Naples, Fla. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three

daughters, Myriam Kutscher of Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.; Chantal Weinhold of Montauk, N.Y., and Christine McCarty M.D., of

Elizabethtown; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be private. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer

Clovis F. Obermesser who held a number of management positions during his 32 year career at Westinghouse, including the position

of President, Far East, passed away at his home in Elizabethtown, PA on May 8, 2006. Clovis and his wife of 60 years, Madeleine also

made their home in Naples, FL. Clovis was born on April 7, 1925 in Forchies La Marche, Belgium. Early in his life he spent eight

years in China where his father was a missionary. His father is buried in China. During the Second World War Clovis was detained as

a prisoner by the Nazi German regime. After his release from prison of war camp he attended the University Paul Pasteur in

Charleroi, Belgium graduating in 1951 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. From 1952 to 1955 he worked as a

technical representative for Ateliers de Constructions Electrique de Charleroi. In 1955 Clovis was recruited by Westinghouse Electric

Corporation during a period called the "brain drain" when many outstanding European Engineers were recruited to come to the United

States. In 1955 he began work at the Westinghouse Atomic Power Division working principally on control systems for nuclear power

plants. As a result of his outstanding technical work he was promoted to various management positions in the Atomic Power Division

and was recognized as a true pioneer in the development of nuclear energy. In 1963 Clovis was named General Manager, Welcosa, an

elevator plant and Westinghouse subsidiary in Liege, Belgium a position he was well suited for and for which his native tongue,

French, was a huge asset. Clovis spoke three languages fluently, French, English and Spanish and was also able to communicate

effectively in German and Italian. In 1966 he was made General Manager of all Westinghouse European Elevator Operations and in

1970 Vice President and General Manager of the Westinghouse Elevator Division in Jersey City, NJ. He continued in this position

until 1974 when he was named Vice President and assistant to the Executive Vice President of World Regions. In 1975 he became

Vice President, Middle East and Africa Region, in 1977 Vice President of Power Systems International and in 1979 Corporate Vice

President and President, Far East for Westinghouse, the position he retired from in 1987. Clovis was highly recognized for his

international knowledge. Among other acknowledgments of his capabilities he was appointed to the Board of Builders, Owners and

Manufacturing Association which has over 5,000 members. He was also a key sub-committee member of the Federal Government

Export Committee. Mr. Obermesser was a past member of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers and the Institute of

Electrical and Electronic Engineers. He was a member of the Club of Pelican Bay in Naples, FL and on the Board of the

Condominium Association where he lived in Florida. He was also an Emeritus Board member of the School of Engineering Board of

Visitors at the University of Pittsburgh where he received a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1955. Clovis was very

active at the University of Pittsburgh, serving as a Phonathon Worker, an Alumni Association Member, the School of Engineer

Alumni Representative in 1985 to 1986, and the Engineering Alumni Association, Senior Vice President 1983 to 1984, Secretary 1982

to 1983 and Treasurer 1983 to 1984. In 1987 he was honored by the University and named the recipient of the School of Engineering

Distinguished Alumni Award. Clovis is survived by his wife Madeleine; three daughters and their husbands, Myriam Kutscher (Bob),

Chantal Weinhold (Paul) and Christine McCarty, M.D. (Don); and four grandchildren, Andrew Kutscher, Ryan Kutscher, Patrick

Louise Stickler, 96, died at 2:40 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2006, at York Hospital. She was the widow of Charles E. Stickler who died in

1978. Born January 20, 1910, in Belgium, she was the daughter of the late Edmond and Louisa (Depasse) Deschamps. Mrs. Stickler

was a member of Mount Pisgah Trinity United Methodist Church and was active in all of the churches she attended throughout her

life. Surviving are sons, Gerald H. 'Jerry' and his wife, Sharon Stickler of Wrightsville, and Charles L. and his wife, Connie Stickler of

Punta Gorda, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-greatgrandson. Louise was preceded in death by four

September 6, 2006. She was a warm and loving person who brightened the lives of all she met. She was born September 20, 1921, in

Shinnston, West Virginia, the daughter of Hector and Augusta H. Wery. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her

brother, Arthur H. Wery; grandparents, Pierre and Pauline Dumont Paquet, natives of Jumet, Belgium; and husband, Edward Krukiel.

She was a 1940 graduate of Charleston High School and a graduate of Morris Harvey College. She worked for many years in the West

Virginia Tax Department before moving to Houston, Texas, in 1972, where she and her husband, Ed retired. She is survived by her

daughters, Beth and Tucker Moseley of Jacksonville, Fla., Paula and Gary Inclan of Longwood, Fla., and Carolyn and Paul Hall of

Frances Rousseau Filson Lacey, 91, of York, formerly of Elizabeth, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, in the Dallastown (Pa.) Nursing

Center. She was born Oct. 3, 1914, in Kittanning, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mona Shelton Rousseau. Mrs. Lacey was a

graduate of California State Teachers College and a member of its Alumni Association and the Pennsylvania and National Education

associations. She was a favorite teacher of many generations of Elizabeth Elementary students. She retired as a teacher from the

Elizabeth Forward School District with 39 years of service. After retirement she became an avid oil painting artist. Mrs. Lacey was a

member of the Elizabeth United Methodist Church and the Clairton Senior Citizens and AARP. In addition to her parents, she was

preceded in death by her husband, James Lacey. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Robert Daugherty, of

Dr. Elaine C. Condon, 81, of Bethlehem, died Thursday, September 28, 2006 in her home. She was born in Belgium on October 14,

1924. Paul, her husband of 25 years, died in 1995. As a young woman Eliane worked in the resistance movement in Belgium against

the Nazis. She was the valedictorian of her high school class. Eliane graduated Summa Cum Laude from Harvard and Columbia

Universities with her masters and doctorate degrees in education. She was a foremost authority in language education. She was the

Director of Ethnic Studies of Language Education at Rutgers University in N.J. Eliane was appointed by several governors to the New

Jersey Ethnic Advisory Council. She was a world lecturer and author on bilingual and bicultural education. Eliane was an advocate for

preventive health care and wellness. Following her husbands death, she educated herself in the treatment therapies for cancer to aid

and help those suffering from the disease. She was generous with her resources toward the needy. Eliane was in the process of

completing her doctorate in Naturopathy. In retirement she pursued her mission around the world benefiting mankind. She was a

gifted lecturer and speaker. She was a member of Holy Infancy Catholic Church. Survivors: Her dear friends, Drs. Zal and Josefina

Frederik J. Saenen, 62, of 332 N. Mary St., Lancaster, died Wednesday, April 18, at Lancaster General Hospital. He was married 20

years this past October to Donna L. Ware Saenen. Born October 11, 1944 in Antwerp, Belgium he was the son of the late Eguidius

and Maria Verachart Saenen. Mr. Saenan was a cabinetmaker who was employed by Fisher's Millwork until the time of his illness.

Earlier he had worked at J.C. Snavely's and H. M. Stauffer and Sons. He had served in the Belgium Army for two years and was a

member of the American Legion Post #34. His interests included bowling, woodworking and oil and water color painting. Surviving

besides his wife are three sons, Wayne W. Saenen of Neshkoro, WI, Michel Saenen and Yvan Saenen both of Belgium; a daughter

Marleen wife of Frank Goris of Belgium; a granddaughter Chelsey Goris of Belgium; a sister Rosa wife of Jack Redman of Canada;

and a sister-in-law Lea Ware of Lancaster. In celebration of Freddy's life, a gathering will take place on Sunday, April 22, 2007 from

1991. She was previously married to David Vogelsong of Mechanicsburg, and moved there when he retired from the Air Force. She

worked at various times during his military career for the Department of Defense, Army & Air Force Exchange Service, Michigan

Public School System, Carlisle Barracks Officers Club, The Colony House Restaurant, and Bob Evans. She was a devoted Mother, a

Leon J. BALZA, 85, of Ohioville, passed away Saturday evening, August 2, 2008, at The Medical Center, Beaver, following a brief

illness. Born October 10, 1922 in Sands Springs, OK, he was a son of the late Jules and Mary Schroeder Balza and had been a resident

of Ohioville since 1977. A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, he had served with an artillery unit in the South Pacific during World War

II. He retired from Armco Steel in Ambridge after over 30 years. Preceding him in death was his beloved wife of nearly 61 years,

Ruth Balza , on December 14, 2007, and three sisters, Mildred Iben, Ethel Lloyd, and Marie Knox. Leon 's passion was his family and

he will be sadly missed by those he loved, including his son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Jane Balza , Fountain Valley, CA; two

daughters and sons-inlaw, Marsha and John Dawson, with whom he had resided, and Sandy and Terry Lukens, Temecula, CA; five

grandchildren and their spouses, Jeff (Jennifer) Rice, Las Vegas, NV; Jaime (Donald) Martin, Check, VA; Jody (Matt, USMC) Callen

ANGELA SOBETSKY, 79, a longtime resident of Upper Gwynedd, passed away Sept. 28, 2008 in Abington Memorial Hospital. She

had been married to the late Frank J. Sobetsky. Born in Belgium, she was the daughter of the late Jan and Maria (Doms) Van den

Broeck. She will be remembered as a very devoted and loving mother to her six children. Mrs. Sobetsky was a member of St.

Stanislaus Church. Surviving are three sons and two daughters, Ronald Sobetsky and his wife, Karen, of Hatfield, Vivian Eddis of

Louise NICKERSON of Bristol Township died peacefully Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at Attleboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Center,

Langhorne. She was 86. Louise was born in Belgium, where she met her husband of many years, Theodore Nickerson, who was a

U.S. soldier stationed in Brussels, during World War II. She lived in Bristol Township most of her life, before moving to Attleboro.

Louise enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting and sewing. She worked for the Bristol Township School District in the kitchen at Delhaas

High School, which she very much enjoyed. Later in life, she taught line dancing at the Fairless Hills Senior Center. She was a

member of the Golden Marks Club and St. Mark Church. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore, and is survived by

four children, Joseph Nickerson, Lisa Story, Kathy O'Donnell (DiClementi) and her husband, Dominic, and Diane Nickerson. She also

is survived by five grandchildren, Joe and Elizabeth Nickerson, Jason O'Donnell, Heather Story and Amy Nickerson. She was sadly

preceded in death by her beloved grand-daughter, Ashley Nickerson, in 2004. The family would like to thank the staff at Attleboro

Nursing and Rehab Center, who provided loving care to our mother. We will be forever grateful for the kindness and quality of care

Alice E. WEINELT, 87, of the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, died on Wednesday, February 4. Her parents emigrated from

Belgium in 1919 and Alice was born on Nov. 2, 1921 in Philadelphia. In 1941, Alice married Bill Lambert, who served in the US

Army, and after the war, they opened a beer distribution business. Bill passed away on May 4th, 1982. He left two children, Alice and

Elenor. On October 1, 1983, a new life began when she married Martin who had four children: Brigitte, Peter, Eric and Debra.

Surviving in addition to her husband and six children are 14 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild. She loved

to babysit and her family was the most important part of her life. In 25 years of marriage, she and her husband traveled around the
