MCMWTC BRIDGEPORT
MILITARY HOUSING
WELCOME PACKET
The Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center (MCMWTC) is
located in one of the most popular recreational areas in California.
MCMWTC is located 25 miles north of Bridgeport, CA. Military
housing is 22 miles north of MCMWTC. MCMWTC is at an elevation
of 6765ft above sea level. MCMWTC is roughly 100 miles south of
Reno, NV. During our winter months the temps can drop to as low as
-20 up at the base (This is rare!). Snow fall can also reach up to 8ft
during a heavy storm up at the base or Lake Tahoe (also rare!).
Snowfalls and temperatures are considerably milder at Family
Housing due to the lower elevation. You are now stationed at one of
the most unique Marine Corps bases in the world. We encourage
you to take advantage of your time here. Get out and explore the
area! You can enjoy scenic hikes, fishing, camping, hunting, and
horseback riding. If you enjoy more of a city life, then Carson City or
Reno Nevada are close enough for a day trip. We welcome you and
hope you enjoy your stay. We want to make your stay here feel like
home as much as possible. Attached is some helpful information for
you. Please reach out with any questions or concerns that you may
have.
Welcome to the U.S. Marine Corps
Mountain Warfare Training Center!
