E-Collaborative for Civic Education (ECCE)
My name is Jasmine Ljungberg, and I am an ISCOR alum. I graduated from SDSU in 2016, and
am now working as a Project Manager for a non-profit organization in D.C. focusing on
advancing human rights and democracy in Iran: E-Collaborative for Civic Education.
This is an opportunity for ISCOR students who might be looking for a virtual internship for the

fine.
While we are registered as the non-profit organization E-Collaborative for Civic Education

community as Tavaana, referring to one of our flagship projects, Tavaana: E-Learning Institute
for Iranian Civil Society, an educational platform, which uses e-courses and a vast pool of
resources to train the public, especially Iranian educators, students, and activists, in human rights
objectives and practices. We also have a sister project called TavaanaTech, which is more
focused on aspects of digital security, including key prerequisites to promote democracy building
in Iran, and the close link between technology and democracy. While our organization is
primarily associated with these two flagship projects, we are always enthusiastic to learn more,
establish new partnerships, and develop new projects.

Jewish Family Service of San Diego (JFSSD)
Migrant Shelter Volunteers Needed – Jewish Family Service of San Diego (JFSSD)
From Chris Baca, former ISCOR student, MA candidate at the Middlebury Institute of
International Studies, and president of the MIIS Immigrant Rights Alliance:
I wanted to pass this opportunity along for any ISCOR students who may be interested. As you
may have heard the migrant shelter that I was part of back in 2018 is being re-opened. They are
in dire need of volunteers to build the infrastructure needed to support the expected rise in
asylum seekers along the US-Mexico border in San Diego and Imperial Counties.
I believe this would be a great opportunity for ISCOR students to get involved in real-world
issues with life and death implications. I personally learned a lot about myself and the realities
asylum seekers face on their journey. If any ISCORians are interested in becoming a volunteer
please feel free to have them contact the current volunteer coordinator, Katrina Bruins,
